The
Licensing and Gambling Acts Committee is a statutory Committee,
having functions under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act
2005. Meetings are scheduled monthly but can be held as and when
required.
The
Full Committee considered statements of Licensing Policy and makes
recommendations to Council. Meetings of the Committee are scheduled
twice per year but can be held as and when required.
The
Committee sits as a
Sub-Committee to deal with applications and reviews of licenses
that cannot be conducted by officers under delegated
powers.

Statement
of Licensing Policy
The
Council has recently reviewed its statement of licensing policy and
the revised policy will come into effect from the 1 February
2019.

Gambling
Act Statement of Principles
The
Gambling Act 2005 requires each local authority to publish
a Statement of Licensing
Principles outlining how the authority will deal with
applications. The Council’s current Statement came into
effect on 31 January 2019.
