The Standards Committee is
a politically balanced Committee of the Council responsible for
promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by members and
co-opted Members of the District Council and of the Town and Parish
Councils within the District. The Committee is Chaired by a Co-opted Member who is independent of
the Council.
Two Independent Persons are
also appointed by the Council to provide advice on the handling of
complaints of breaches of the Code of Conduct.

The Committee also conducts
the annual review of the Council’s Constitution and Code of
Conduct.
