The Planning Committee is responsible overall for the granting and refusal of planning applications, listed building consent and other regulatory functions relating to planning of the Council. The Committee meets monthly at The Arc, Clowne and meetings are open to the public. Planning Committee reports are available for public inspection five working days before each meeting.
Speaking at Planning Committee
The Council lets applicants and people who have written to it about planning applications to speak to the Planning Committee. Each speaker is given 5 minutes but they must comply with the Code of Conduct for Speakers.
A decision on an application will not be delayed if any person who had given notice to speak is unable to attend the meeting or is not present when the application is being considered. For further information, download our advice note, Public Speaking on Planning Applications.
Whilst the Planning Committee meetings are taking place virtually, revised guidance has been published on public speaking. This is available here.
